Hot tub lateral sevice--distance from property line
I understand a 220V servixe lateral must be 18in depth w/ warning ribbon at 12in depth. I also understand the line should terminate to a shut off switch at a distance 5 feet from the hot tub. How far must this service line be from the property line?

That distance is not specified by international building code but by your city or towns setback regulations. While this would still be considered code, it's a local thing. It is commonly 5' but you need to call your local building department to be 100% sure. Also, your voltage is likely 240 volts.
