We bought a home with this fan already installed. It looks really nice and although the blades do move on the slower side, The air does move quite well. I also don't know what speed it is on. The previous owners took the remote. We only had power from the wall switch.
Now the thing just stopped working all together though. We have a fan tech coming through or home Warranty company (HMS). They said that they will not touch it if the remote isn't here. Does anyone know if there is a universal remote I can pick up at say... Home Depot? |

I'm trying to install a Hampton Bay-Frontera ceiling fan with the optional 4.5" downrod option instead of the standard 12". It does not appear that the 4.5" rod will fit because of the fan's decorative scroll. Any ideas? Am I missing something obvious?
