    Spices for fried chicken.
What types of spices should try. I drizzle hot sauce over my chicken before eating but the crust/chicken always seems to bland. I have tried red pepper flakes in the breading and black pepper... What else should I try? Doesn't have to be hot just flavorful.

Have you tried marinating the chicken a bit longer?
Add a bit of mashed ginger, garlic, onions, black pepper when you marinate.

Actually I did not marinate the chicken at all.. I only marinate when I do not bread.
Maybe that is where I am going wrong. I usually put the spice in the breading. I am trying to find a good combo that will taste good with hot sauce. My daughter has me hooked on hot sauce and chicken.

I think you should marinate first before breading and add your spices to the breading as you do now.. that way the chicken will taste spicier.
You could add the garlic, ginger, onion and black pepper to the hot sauce and marinate the chicken in the sauce itself..
    I am drooling already.. ;)

I remember tasting a wonderful chicken, with hot sauce at a restaurant, I have never found out their secret.:)

I already made chicken for lunch guess I will try it for lunch again tomorrow. Will marinate all night. The chicken is frozen so I will take it from the freezer and put it in the sauce/spices to marinate and see how it goes. I will try the garlic, b.pepper and the onion with a little hot sauce.

I only use ginger if I am going to eat it with rice, pineapples, soy... Ginger and hot sauce mmm not so sure about.

    Yummmy :)

I was thinking if you are not into ginger with hot sauce you can do without the ginger.

I just like the hint of ginger flavour but don't like it when I have bits of ginger in my food.

Do let us know how it goes tomorrow!

OK will have to leave the hot sauce off this one,

Roll them in sugar frosted flakes before you cook it.

I'd like chicken and apples. I also like pineapples and chicken or pork and apple or pineapples.
There is a company that makes apple and chicken sausages that my kids love, kind of pricey though but very good.

Just finished eating lunch. I will say that my chicken was sooooo good. Light crispy & crunchy... beautiful rich color from the hot sauce. Plated it and put ranch dressing in a circle and surrounded the ranch with a circle of hot sauce. Oh how good. Thank you firmy for the idea of marinating it.

Note my cocoa cake was eaten by a group of hungry backyard basketbal players... so guess it was OK.

*edit* I did not use egg to dip it in the hot sauce helped the flour and pankeo crumbs to stick.
