    Adding family member to deed?
I have joint ownership of my home with my elderly mother. I was considering adding my (only) sister to the deed of the home so that it would not have to go through any type of probate should anything happen to both my mother and I. From what I have read on this site, just adding a name to the deed is not necessarily a simple procedure. Is there another way to put the line of succession of the home into a will or trust so that it would not have to go through probate?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

If you use a will that would mean probate. You could setup a trust, but from what I've read the costs would be similar. I would consult an estate attorney.
