    A minor with a F1 visa
    I am 16 years old. I attend a boarding school that allows day students. My sister lives about 30 minutes from the school. She is my legal guardian. The school says I can only live off campus with a parent. Shouldn't I be able to live with my sister?

    Though your sister is considered "legal guardian" in US, but without your parents' consent, you cannot live with her. Talk to your parents.

    I have my parents' consent but my school says the rule is that I can only live with a parent. Where can I find the rules so I can prove the facts/plead my case to my school?

    Many boarding schools have specific requirements when it comes to international students, especially when students are minors. I believe they have good reasons for this.
