What about, "Just the two of us" by Will Smith. I know its about him and his son, but it could be applicable to others.

"Home" by Michael Buble. "Hear you me" by Jimmy Eat World. Otherwise I'm sure you know some song that were dear to your friend. (My condolences) Also maybe you could record some poetry like "Stop all the clocks by W.H. Auden.

Home by Michael Buble is a great song. I moved from England in 2005 after living there all my life, to Mid Europe where hardly anyone speaks English, I was so homesick at first, and I used to play this song all the time,. it always made me cry, think I must have been trying to self destruct:)

"One more day" by Diamond Rio might be good?

If you want a good instrumental, try a listen to "For the love of God" by Steve Vai.

As others have said, I'm also so sorry for your loss.

Live like you were dying-----Tim McGraw (song written for his Dad (Tug) when he died.

Best Friends--- and/or---Because You Loved Me---McGraw and Hill

If tomorrow never comes---Garth Brooks (and... "The Dance")

    Angels among us--Alabama

I appologize if this post was too late for your CD. but never too late for another. You are a special person to want to make a memorial for your friend. God Bless.

(you didn't mention the gender of your friend, so some of the songs might not fit, but heartfelt none-the-less!)
