    Married to Portuguese does it make me a EU citizen
    Hi

    Im a South African married to a Portuguese, he now wants to move back to Europe. Does it make it easier to immigrate with him or will it still be the normal procedures

    Getting married to a Portuguese does not mean you can just pack and go, there are standard procedures you need to follow such as filing petition, etc. It could take several months or longer depending on how the authority processes the cases.

    Further information can be obtained from the nearest Portuguese embassy.
