    6wks puppy not eating
I have purchased 2 labXgerman sheperd puppies 3 days ago fron a pet store. A little girl & a boy. The male is very tiny but he was playful. I had bought puppy chunks which both refuse to eat. Then I tried a wet puppy food which they ate twice & won't touch. The litlle male is much smaller than the female & I was told that he may be the runt. They sleep a lot of the time . The female is quite active but the male is very quiet & doesn't want to eat anything & not have much water. My vey says it is just the adjustment from the litter to the pet store & now to my home. I am really concerned... please hepl

He may have been taken from his mom before he was ready maybe try feeding with a bottle for a while until he is more comfortable with you.

    Hi,
I am so glad you have a Vet. Many pet owners don't, and that is a very big mistake!
I am not a Vet; just a dog lover and owner. The Vet is probably right. It will take some adjustment for the puppies to get to know you, trust you, and be comfortable with you. The change in surroundings, environment, and noise levels are different, and it will take a little while for them to be comfortable.
For example; if a young child is removed from it's "home" to a new one, it takes some time for he/she to be comfortable.
Dry puppy food is the best, and contains the minerals and vitamins they need; as opposed to Canned puppy food. Give them some time, and when it gets hungry, it will eat. I do wish you and them the very best.

You didn't say how old. I would hope even a pet store wouldn't let a less than 6 week old puppy go home. I don't like the sound of either the chunks or moist food. Pick up some regular puppy chow kibble. Offer each about a half a cup 3 times a day. Take up what they don't eat after 15 minutes. Chances are, in a day or two, they will be eating fine. Shepherds tend to be picky eaters, while most Labs inhale whatever you give them and look for more. Of course neither reads my advice and who knows what any one dog may do.
