    Sir / Madam
I am working in USA since last three months on J1 VISA. I am likely to return to India in another one year three months. t.e. my total stay in USA will be one year six months. Kindly advise me whether the Social Security Tax deductions from my pay are justified.

On J1 visa everyone is exempt for 2-years that is your income is not subject to Social Security and Medicare (FICA) taxes. You should ask your employer to stop withholding FICA taxes and refund all the taxes withheld. You can send them e-mail.
