    Moving a washing machine.
Hello - I am doing a laundry room renovation which will involve moving my washing machine. Currently, it drains into a wash basin which has a 1.25 inch drain pipe. I don't have any access to a 2 inch or greater drain line, so I need to keep the wash basin. My issue is, my plans do not put the basin right next to the washing machine. Because of the size of the new laundry room, I will need to have a few feet between the washing machine and the basin, and the will be on separate walls. What I am thinking of doing is putting a 2 inch drain line in the wall next to the washing machine which will run through the wall to the wash basin a few feet away, and then drain into the wash basin. So effectively, I am lengthening the drain hose coming out of the washing machine. Does anyone see any issues with this?

The following crude pic may help. The red line indicates the 2 inch pipe through the wall that drains into the basin (marked B). The green line is the drain hose from the back of the washing machine. Of course the pipe will have the 1/4 inch per foot slope towards the basin. It will go straight down at least a foot before taking on this slope at the point where the green meets the red.

    Thanks,
    Rob
