    Firing a public defender
    Is it possible to fire your public defender and be appointed another one?

    Hello Karen:

    It's possible. Fire him by letter outlining the reasons. Do it by certified mail and send a copy to the prosecutor and the judge. If the reasons were sufficient, the judge will appoint someone else.

    I will agree with excon to a point, normally if the judge believes you are doing this only to stall the trial and the judge may also want some reasons
