    Filing taxes in two states
In 2007 I worked in California from January to May. Then I moved back to Minnesota for the summer, and worked there from June to October. I have a driver's license in Minnesota... does this make me a Minnesota resident? Then in October I moved back to California for the second time, and finished 2007 working in California again. What federal form do I need to fill out when I have worked in both California and Minnesota? What state form do I need for Minnesota, and what form do I need for the state of California?

You are a part-year resident of both states and must file as such.

The California Form is Form 540NR; not sure about Minnesota.
