    Phone signal degraded ?
My new Belkin modem/router (model F5D7632-4)just will not work. My son (who is
Quite experienced in this line and has a Netgear Lan at his place) has tried more than
Once. As a result we have established:

The Belkin works at his place (when substituted for the Netgear)
Both for his lan hardware or my laptop
The Netgear works at my place on my Toshiba laptop Pro 4600
He reasons that the phone feed is suspect but British Telecom and the
ISP (Tiscali) say the line is OK.
The original (mains) phone socket was rewired from the lobby via the loft
(and via 2 jointing strips) to its current location (some 8 or so metres away)
Might this be the problem? Tho no problems with phone.
Laptop works fine on hardwired setup.
