    Can staying out of the sun for a long period make my skin lighter?

    It can prevent you from getting darker at least (and using sunblock).

    Yes to some extent your melanin formation would be reduced but this iz not a way of getting lighter skin you have to use some good product but if your darker skin iz only due sun exposure than you can achieve a brighter look by avoiding the sun:)
