    Problems with adopted Daschund
I adopted a Daschund aprox. 3-4 years old from the pound. He cowers and urinates every time we touch him. We give him lots of love but it doesn't help. We put him outside and he still pees when he comes back in. We have had him since Thanksgiving. My husband wants to give him to a rescue if we can't get him to stop. I don't want to because I don't know what kind of home he will go to.
    Any ideas?

The Dog Whisperer recently had a show on a rat terrier with the same problem - he peed whenever keys were rattled or people approached him. Cesar introduced him to other dogs and encouraged the owner to take him for LOTS of walks... the peeing and cowering disappeared once he learned how to be a dog.
