    Child obsessed!
I just wanted to know if any body had any info or advice. I have a 2 1/2 year old that is obsessed with doing everything on her own. Like closing a door or turning off a light. If I do it she will start crying will go and undo what I did and do it herself. It happens with pretty much everything. I just need some advice if medical, just a age thing or what any replies will be great full!

I think she's just an independent child... she's definitely at that age where she realizes, "Hey, I'm a big girl." It takes a little while longer to let her do it, but she also gets a sense of accomplishment. I really wouldn't worry about it.

Welcome to independence, every child gets there sooner or later. This is normal behavior for this age, let her start doing things on her own so she can gain her independence, this will help her grow and learn.

Independence is correct. My daughter's first sentence was "I'll do it". She is now a 28 year old successful executive in a chemical company. She graduated high school at age 16 and is working on her 3rd college degree. Her IQ was tested at 174. She has been independent since before she was born. Let her grow and learn.

It's probably just a stage. Most kids go through that period where they want to do everything on their own. It'll build her confidence too.
