    Well, seeing as we're currently in motion, if the earth stopped rotating, everything would go flying east due to inertia. People at the equator would get it the worst (flying at around 1000 mph), while the people at the poles would be fine.

    Then comes the nights/days... where you have about 6 months of day, then 6 months of night.

    ... I doubt anyone'll survive.
