New users not showing in Address List
When new users are created in Exchange 2003, their email address does not show up in the address list in Outlook 2003. When the Exchange Cached Mode in Outlook 2003 is uncheck then the users will appear. I've installed the latest service pack for Office 2003 as one of the solutions but it did not help any.

    Thanks,
    SD

The is a trait of using Exchange Cached Mode. The Global Address List (GAL) on the PC is synchronized with the scheduled updates on the Offline Address Book for the Exchange Server.

You can force the update of the GAL on the PC by opening Outlook and clicking on Tools, Send/Receive and select Download Address Book. Make sure you select Full Details.

A rebuild of the Offline Address Book can be resource intensive on the server so you do not want to schedule it very frequently if you have a large mailbox count and if there are servers located in multiple sites. This would cause a high rate of WAN traffic. Instead of once or twice a day, you may want to change it to every four hours. In a multi-national corporation, list out all your sites in GMT and look at overlapping working hours for each time zone. This will help determine the best times to schedule the Offline Address Book updates.

As a side note, to take full advantage of Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003, both should be running at SP2.
