Want to Be Removed from a Will
I do not want to be in my mother's will. I am in dispute with my brothers. I don't want to be involved with them at all after my mother's death. Right now I am named with my brothers for her property to be equally divided. I wish to write a letter that I do not want to be involved at all. What should I do?

    Why not?

Its free money. Your mother is trying to leave you something.

However, let it stand. Ask to not be Executor. That way, when she dies, you don't have to conern yourself at all over the estate and the Executor will just send you a cheque for your amount.

If you really don't want to be in the will, ask your mother to remove you from it. Besides, being in someone's will puts no legal obligation on you whatsoever.

You can not make someone take you out of their will, it is their choice not yours.

At her death someone will be named to execute the will and they will divide it as the dead person desired.

And no you don't have to discuss or even talk to anyone else at the time of her death, you can get an attorney to represent you to handle all of it, and whoever the exector is they will sell the house and divide the money.

You can ask your mother to leave you out of the will if you want, but she will have to rewrite the will.

And lastly this is not your will or even what you want, this is your mom's wishes and why do you wish to upset her, are you also mad at her?
