    Overtime work labor laws
    Hi,
    I work in the state of Florida. If you are an hourly employee can you be forced to stay and work past your schedule shift?

    Yes and No. They can't force you to stay beyond your work hours. But they can fire you for not doing so. Of course if you do work overtime, you have to be properly compensated.
