I own a 2001 Palm Harbor Factory Built home and am having some issues with the master bath. We noticed some water under the carpet surrounding the faucet end of the bath so we cut out the dry wall to get to the faucet controls. (The back of the bath faces the water heater room) It was obvious that the leak was coming from the knobs and shower hole, and we were able to see it leak. The faucet was old and coroded, so I purchased and installed a new faucet.

I ran the shower after installing the new faucet and it worked fine. But after installing it I took a shower and went to check the leak, and it was leaking again. Everything is tight, using thread tape and plumbers putty.

I should also mention we have rather hard water. I am looking at purchasing a water softner, but we currently have no room for one. The problem is the leak is still there, even though I replaced the facuet. Any ideas?

You have to pin down what is leaking. Shut off your water and put a fan in the area to dry things out. Have someone turn on the water while you inspect with a flashlight. If no leak appears turn on the shower and keep looking. For all we know it could even be a drain leak.

I can see where the water is coming from. It was dry before my shower and afterwards the areas surrounding the shower pipe and the knob feeds were all leaking. It is a new faucet and it is all tight. Not sure why it would still leak around those areas.

The leak comes from one area and you are seeing the aftermath. Dry it out and be watching when the water is turned back on. " knob feeds were all leaking. It is a new faucet and it is all tight." These two staements contradict each other.
