    You should be able to go to a bank, and get a guaranteed student loan? If not, it might mean that you school has a high number of people in the past who defaulted on their student loans... Sorry if that is confusing... I missed a few of the previous posts... guess I'm getting tired...

    Another idea is that you could go for the Science or Math, but at the same time do a double major by picking up some extra credits? I know it's a lot more work, but I double majored in Business Administration and Psychology. A lot of the courses will be the same. If you have to teach one of the subjects that you don't care for very much for a while, it would still help you get your foot in the door of the school, build tenure, and transfer to the English position later on.
