Drains Backed Up In My Mobile Home!
I live in a mobile home and noticed spaghetti in the bathtub. I don't cook in the bathroom so it had to be from the garbage disposal. Not much later the toilet overflowed and when I used the washing machine there was water all over the bathroom floor. When I use the bathroom sink the toilet makes a "glugging" sound and I can see big air bubbles in it. When I flush the toilet it flushes very slowly and some of it comes up through the bathtub drain. Someone checked the kitchen trap and it was clean, and that it may be frozen pipes in the bathroom. Today I noticed clean water leaking from under the toilet. Does this sound like a clog? I have never had a mobile home before, and don't know what needs to be done and what kind of money I'm looking at. I have seen horror movies that made me feel better than this situation.

You have a blockage in the main sewer line. Most likely in the line coming from your trailer. The line must be snaked out from a cleanout or a roof vent. Are you on a park sewer system or a separate septic tank? While this backup can be a pain and messy it's a problem that can be repaired by the home owner. Do you wish to try fixing this yourself? If so click on back. Regards, Tom

Thank you for the info. It is a park system. How can I tackle this?
The line must be snaked out from a cleanout or a roof vent. Rent a power snake at least 50 feet long. If there's a cleanout on the sewer line open it up and snake from there, if no cleanout then from a roof vent. If there's no standing water in the pipe then the blockage is in the sub floor and must be snaked from a roof vent. Good luck, Tom

Backed up drains [ 1 Answers ]

We just bought our house and the home inspector passed the house, but as soon as we moved in, the dishwasher and the washing machine started to back up into the shower. At first it would drain out very slowly but now it won't drain at all. I've used declogging chemicals but they don't seem to work....
