    Neck injury and headaches
Here is the impressions from a MRI cervical without contrast:
Moderate spinal stenosis with impingement on the cervical spinal cord orinubebt astnetruc dusci-osteophytic bulges C2-3, C4-5 and C5-6 with edema at the C5 & C6 vertebral bodies. Mod. To severe neural foraminal narrowing is also seen at this level.

At level C7-T1, involving the rt. Neural foramen, there is a hyperintense lesion. Differential dx. Includes neural cyst. Nonetheless, a nerve sheath tumor cannot be completely excluded.

Multilevel upper thoracic spine disc bulges with a lt. neural forminal focal disc protursion at T-2 is present.

Mild anterolisthesis of C3 over C4.

MRI with Flexion/Ext.: Lt. paracentral superiorly migrated herniated disc which may cause lt. radiculopathy.
Worsening of disco-osteophytic bulges at C-3-4 & C5-6 with extension.
Worsening of antcrolisthesis of C3 over C4 with flexion suggestive of underlying ligamental laxity/instability.

What kind of doctor should I see? I am having frequent headaches & one fingertip has gone numb.

What did the radiologist tell you as far as what to do? How did you end up with getting an MRI in the first place?

More info is needed as we are not doctors here. What sent you for the MRI, what kind of doctor did you see? Is the cause of the injury known?

    Neurologist
Perhaps he will order an emg/ncv
And conservative treatment [medicines , physical therapy ]
    First and re-evaluate

Which finger ? Which hand is going numb ?

I was in an auto accident. The dr. I was referred to ordered the MRI. I was not impressed with the dr. but she was the only dr. that would see pts. From auto accidents and submit the bill to my ins. Company. I didn't continue with her. She wanted to do acupuncture. I rec'd therapy in her office which she overcharged the ins. Company for.. and did nothing for my neck. I just kind of gave up then since there was no one else to see. Now with increased h/a's and neck stiffness and pain, I just want to see the appropriate dr. and bill my personal ins. Company.

Therapy is a good option but finding the right place is a problem. My husband had therapy once and the person had not a clue about how to help him.

I think my main problem is knowing who I should see in my area that can help me.
My primary doctor referred me to a neurosurgeon... for evaluation only. I would have to get a lot worse before I would consider an operation on my neck. I am so afraid of becoming paralyzed.

Congratuations on your decision to be come a nurse. Best of Luck.

This is in the c-8 dermatome and is consistent with the cc-7 t-1 lesion described on your mri

You need to see the specialists and really do your due diligence regarding any potential surgical intervention.

    Good luck

Another option would be to see a physiatrist, also known as a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation doctor. (PM&R).
