I live in the State of Tennessee and I was told by the courts that I must petition the courts to sign over all legal rights to my child. How can I do that? And what steps do I need to take in order for me to do that?

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

First, what do you think relinquishing your rights will get you? Yes, a relinquishment of parental rights has to be approved by the local Family court. But they are RARELY granted. If you are doing this to get out of paying child support, forget it. The only reasons its usually granted is to clear the way for adoption, (in which case the adoptive parents should be filing the paperwork) or if the parent is a danger to the child.
