    Miscarriage in the Military
    LOST and NUMB.
Hello I am 23 years old and have been told my entire life that my body is uncapable of reproducing. Earlier this year I had an sbnormal pap and ended up having a biopsy. On the 24th of August while at the doctors getting my annual I found out that I was already a month pregnant and didn't even know it. I was estatic to finally be having a baby! I went in for my first ob appointment on the 15 of oct. where I found out that I had a early miscarriage yet my body was still acting and felt like I was pregnant. No bleeding, cramping, loss of pregnancy symptoms.. So I was shocked!
I should be 13 weeks this week but now nothing. Over this past weekend I had to have a d & c to get all the remanents of the pregnancy out of my body so that I could recover and try to move on in my life.. but have never felt more depressed or alone in my life. I am in the military and since I was pregnant they had to send me off my ship to a shore command where everyone is pregnant .
Does anyone have some advice or know what I am going through?

I've had a miscarriage and an abortion... Neither were good experiences. I was depressed and felt alone. Just know that you will pull out of this a stronger person. You can always try adoption when you are ready. Does that navy help with adoption fees? I know that some employers do, so I wasn't sure if the Navy did. The best advice I can give you, is to stay strong and look at what you do have.

    Navy Girl,

My wife and I have been through three miscarriages. Each one was its own special nightmare.

However, please do not despair. It is quite normal for a first pregnency to self terminate often without the mother even knowing about it.

At least that what we were told, it didn't help us any but we were told that.
