First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

Second, I believe there is a fee to take the GED test. You may find some free help to prepare if your search the WEB.

It is not free to take the GED test, however, you can study for the test for free. There are many free online sites which offer lessons related to the GED tests. There are numerous free classes available through non-profit organizations, these are often funded through a state department of education. Often libraries offer free classes. Community colleges are another source. I live in Pennsylvania and there is a free Distance Learning Project offered throughout the state that allows adults (age 16 and up) to study at home via computer and/or mail. There are many resources for studying. Finding what is right for you will require... homework... on your end.

There is no free GED, there are some local programs that you may check with the local welfare offcie on, that pays the costs ( but not online)

There are online high school programs but they all cost money

A GED test is not that expensive, if you save just a little bit per week or per month, you will eventually have enough to take the test, in the mean time, take advantage of those links provided above to study and prepare yourself for the test. Good luck to you.

I took the test back in 97 and it only cost me $50.00 (in the state of Missouri, if that makes a difference).

However, I did not take it online. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Maybe set aside $10 each week, and in a month or two (depending on where you live), you'll have enough to pay for the test.

The price will depend on where this person lives.
