Do the Democrats want to create a Theocracy ?
President Bush has been accused more than once here and other places of having a desire of creating a theocracy in the USA . Usually support for this claim is made by taking statements he has made completely out of context.

Based on that standard it is perfectly acceptable to make a similar claim that the Democrats want to establish their own theocracy . It is a well known fact that the Democrats repeastedly use the religious pulpit to do some of their most effective campaigning . Barak Obama is in the midst of what he calls "40 Days of Faith & Family";an effort to introduce South Carolina to how Obama's family life and faith have shaped his values.Playing the religion card ,he addressed the Redemption World Outreach Center church in Greenville SC this weekend . Check it out

Redemption World Outreach Center - Greenville, SC

This church doesn't have pastors ;it has Apostles .

During his address Obama said "We're going to keep on praising together. I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth."
He also said ”These days, when people ask me, ‘What role does religion play in your work?’ – You’re running for president of the United States, the leader of the free world. What role does faith play? It plays every role.”When people work together, he said, there is "nothing that can stop us because that's God's intention."

Now I find nothing wrong with expressing these sentiments . In fact ;if this is genuine he moves up a peg in my book. Again ;I point this out because GWB has been raked over the coals for expressing the same.

    But that isn't all !

San Fran Nan prays for President Bush to change his policies “all the time” .

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Sunday that she prays for President Bush to change his policies “all the time,” and has specifically prayed for him to sign legislation boosting heath insurance coverage for children.

"First of all, I pray for President Bush all the time, and I pray especially hard that he would sign the children's health bill because it's so important for America's children," Pelosi said on Fox News Sunday. "I pray that he makes the right decisions for the American people."

But she said she doesn't pray specifically "for a political outcome."

"We just pray that God's will will be done. We pray for the children, we pray for poor people, we pray for people who need help," she said. "And we always, always, always pray for our men and women in uniform who make our freedom to pray possible.”
Again ,nothing wrong with the sentiment . But when taken out of context like Bush's comments frequently are one can conclude that the Democrats have their eyes on their own theocracy . More likely however these are just cynical statements to court the social conservative voting block that some here think is growing in it's irrelevence.

It always puzzled me how the Democrat candidates can go 'preach' at churches but
IF a Republican wants to do anything with the least little tie to religion the Dem's immediately start pointing to separation of church and state.

Also notice how ever since they conceded that they would not be able to give a date for withdraw from Iraq
'once they are in office' the news isn't talking as much about the war any more. I use to wake up every morning to the news saying three more soldiers killed in Iraq. Is it because there isn't much going on there right now OR is it because they want to calm the waters slowly so that it is less of an issue once they get in?

Theocracy or basic Socialism is what most of them tout, in my humble opinion... I'm not sure which.

Your question assumes America is not a Theocracy now.

The larger question is still the same; do you believe in the Democrats vision of World Peace, or the Republicans vision of Christianizing the World?

I figured as much but in the long run IF they come into office and have to deal with it it is in their favor/best interest that it is quieted down now~~I would think.

    Thanks Tom :)

This is no surprise, the Dems have been playing their own faith card for a couple of years now. It's also no surprise that some in the MSM are saying this was a good move on Obama's part, and it was to an extent. The problem I have with it is I doubt if I share their vision of what the Kingdom of God on earth would be like.

Well my bigger issue with them is their neocom vision.

Thank goodness Bush has the good sense to let thousands of good Catholics from below the border into the country every day….that helps us shore up our defense with more Christian soldiers.

    :)
