I have not had a bank account in seven years. I am afraid to open a PERSONAL checking account because seven years ago my CORPORATE account was levied to pay a creditor.

I am now retired and have no income other than social security.

How can I find out if I am in danger of being levied now?

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

Was the creditor paid in full? You can check the court that issued to the judgement to see if its still in force.

But if your only income is from SS you can open the account and give your bank a letter stating that is your only source of income and all funds depositied will be exempt. So if an attachment order is received they will not honor it.
