I am thinking you are right! I bought a used ECU off Ebay (exact replacement - serial numbers only a few off) and car responded the same. It briefly tries to start then just cranks. Two injectors fire all the time and tow not at all.

Any suggestions how to test TP and MAP sensors? I will take the ICM and coil to Autozone for testing.

Problem solved! When I replaced the cylinder head I had managed to end up about 4 teeth off on the timing marks. Adjustment made and car fired right up. Car runs like a top! (as it should after I replaced everything!)

Have a 95 honda civic. This car won't start. Had friend lend me his 95 honda civic to test the MAP sensor ECU and distributor. Car still doesn't start, can't imagine what else might be wrong.

You should replace the ignition coil and ignition rotor inside the distrubitor. I have a 1995 Honda Civic , I replaced both parts and my car starts with no problem so I hope it works for you too.

I have the same problem, read all your treads but my Civic had a particular detail- One morning while attempting to fix it by checking the timing it just started like nothing ever happened. I ran it for 3 weeks with no problem, went on vacation for one week and in my return it cranked but id not start. Then remember that triggered the initial problem when I let it sit for a week prior to the initial problem. I blame it on the fuel system but at all times fuel pump is humming when ignition is in... what do you make of it?

Please help guys, let me first say that I don't really know much about cars, just a little. A few weeks ago my engine overheated because of a failed radiator. Me and my dad replaced the radiator, and discovered water was leaking into the engine, it occasionally ran a little rough on start, but...

94 civic hatchback cranks but doesn't start [ 2 Answers ]

The car cranks over really strong, has spark, fuel, and compression although on the 1st cylinder the compression is lower by 50 psi, and the rest are at like 180psi. 1995 honda civic 1.5 no start [ 1 Answers ]

1.5 liter engine will turn over but will not start on it's own. If you spray carb cleaner in it it will start and run great after that. You then can shut it off and it restarts fine as long as you don't wait longer then 30 min. We swapped out distributors, fuel pressure regulator, fuel relay,...
