    Siddhartha Gautama
I have read about him so much and written about him but one simple question was asked and I can't even be wise enough to know.. .

    How did he become buddha?

I was going to say "After leaving his shelter at the tree he went forth to share the truths he had discovered with other people"

But I don't know :/ I feel iffy about that one

    He achieved enlightenment.

After his meditation under the pipal tree, he came to understand all his previous lives and the samsara (birth and rebirth cycle). He figured out how to end infinite sorrow.
He then became Buddha or the "Awakened One", but instead of passing out of the cycle as those who achieve enlightenment do, he returned to share his truths.

    So you're right :)

    Ohh haha thank you :)
Its funny, when I think of Buddha I picture a fat bald man getting his tummy rubbed, not Siddhartha

I know, I always do too... and that's all you normally see around. I have one tea light holder in my home that is Siddhartha and not a big-bellied buddha :)

Everything in choosing your beliefs is by choice...

Just because your family is Christian, doesn't make you automatically Christian, especially if you don't believe in it.

My mom was Lutheran, and always took us to church etc. Everyone in my family believes in "God"... I just never really did. I never claimed any religion.

I started living the Buddhist way of life about 3-4 years ago.
