I definitely think movies get scarier when you're older because you know some of the stuff actually happens, also you have a greater sense of your own mortality. After 20 I've become a real scaredy cat. I also think some films have become sadder as I have more empathy than when I was younger, for example I cried at the end of sixth sense the umptheenth time I watched it because I suddenly knew what it would be like to lose the love of your life. Ah the joys of a fully developed limbic system.

One thing I've found as I get older... I like movies that make you feel things, like horror films. And even chick flicks, but only if they've got a little comedy in them.

I actually liked the new Dawn of the Dead (haven't seen the old one), and it's comedy counterpart, Shawn of the Dead.

Now, lets all get together for movie night :)

Pardon my ignorance but who is Eli Roth? Im not much of a horror man so perhaps I'm wrong but from my understanding this is an Australian film written and directed by Greg Mclean and set in Australia. It is based in true events about a psycho who captures and tortures backpackers in outback Australia.

I have always loved horror movies and the 'blood and guts'. Even though I know it is all fake and special effects, I still get scared. I think 28 Days Later was the movie that really scared me. It's a zombie movie, but it left me with one of those disturbed feelings after watching it. I also like The Hills Have Eyes, all of the Saw movies, Jeepers Creepers (the second one wasn't very good), and most of the 70's-80's horrors such as Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Probably the absolute worst horror film I've seen was Boogeyman. I felt they were going in the right direction, but the ending seemed like they just gave up or ran out of ideas. You guys have pointed out a lot of movies I haven't seen yet though, time to update my Netflix!

I wish I could but I can't remember the name of the dang movie. It was about a razorback pig terrorising the Australian outback. I think Jameson Parker was the lead in it though, darn Alzheimer.

I know most people hate this movie, but it creeped me out for weeks when I first saw it opening weekend at the theatre... Blair Witch... I have a terribly vivid imagination, and most of the gore movies I'm just numb to because I watch them all the time... so if you give me a movie, where my imagination is the villain, Im scared out of my mind literally... wow! Brilliant.

Otherwise, watch the hills have eyes alone in a dark room, and you'll start hearing those guys... lol... I also was afraid of the exorcist as a child, and poltergeist really freaked me out when I was younger. Im still frightened of the shining, and leprechaun has given me a deep fear of little people... no offense to any out there, its psychological, I think I saw this for the first time when I was 5... LOL

I thought the Blair Witch was creepy as well. Especially if you attempt to put yourself in that kind of a situation. I think it would've been so much better had it not been "leaked" that it was fake.

Wolf Creek was pretty good - there was one scene that just comes out of no where and gives you a nice scary movie surprise!

I love 28 Days Later and a lot of the slasher flicks from the 70's and 80's. Halloween is great (the new one is horrible), and Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of my favorites. I also really like Friday the 13th. Nightmare on Elm Street never did it for me - I always hated that Freddy talked, lol. Silence of the Lambs is good, Cannibal Holocaust wasn't bad, and there's a German film from the 1930's called "M" that I thought was great. No gore, no violence, but the use of shadows, music and pacing was amazing. I also really liked Nosferatu.

The Rob Zombie movies, House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects were gory and Sherri Moon Zombie's laugh is just nuts. It all depends on what you're looking for!

Did anyone see , "Sand Man" I saw that awhile back, I thought it was OK. I liked it cause they turned him into glass at the end. I can't really remember if it was the scary, and what about the first "Candy man" that had some good parts to it.

I saw Cannibal Holocaust for the first time a couple weeks ago. Because it's been banned and panned, I thought I might enjoy it. The parts of the film involving animals were just too hard to watch. Plus I was eating lasagna...

"M" is probably one of the creepiest films ever. I only ever saw it because it came in a Fritz Lang collection. The whistling was what made it eerie.

Werner Herzog's Nosferatu is the most visually appealing.

My favorite horror film right now is from France. It's titled High Tension, and it's kind of like Texas Chainsaw Massacre-meets-Fight Club. WIth chicks. One big, fun creepy psychological bloodbath.

I couldn't watch Candyman, it scared the hell out of me! Lol!

So did Pet Cemetery (sp?) with that crazy-eyed dog! Lol... but that was quite a while ago... honest! :p

I think what made Cannibal Holocaust so tough to watch and so disgusting was the animal scenes, but I have to admit, the scenes with the filmmakers violating and abusing the tribesmen were really graphic and bad.

High Tension was good, I had forgotten about that one. Some of the things that happened didn't make a lot of sense to me given the ending (like the first scene with the guy in the truck) but it was pretty well done anyway. I thought it was creative and liked the twist they took with the girl.

I love monsters that will eat humans, Jurassic Park, all of them catches my attention. Sin City and Hell boy are up there too.
