    You do have to get the required certification. A love for children and patience would be good assets too.

    What type are you going to be, We have a person with masters in children education at ours ( I believe it is a state requirement to have one on staff) we have a couple that have thierr BS degrees. And some that do not.

    With any carrer you have to be motivated and you also should enjoy what you do. You will have to love children and have lots of energy.
