Buying home w/ NO Garage Drain
    Hi,

I'm looking at buying a home and during the inspection realized there was no drain in the garage. I could not tell if the floor was sloped towards the garage door.

The house is in Canada, therefore a cold climate. Is it common in a cold climate that builders do not install drains? Or is a garage without a drain a common practice?

    Any comments are appreciated.

I have never seen a drain in a garage in any of the houses I have lived in here in Ontario.

Thanks. I'm moving here from California so I thought it may have somehting to do with the cold climate and freezing.

What happens when the snow on your car melts. Are the floors usually graded, or do you just have to let it dry off the floor?
