    concrete patio extension
I am expanding my existing 8'10' patio 2' x 4"around. I noted in a past post for a 4' extension you suggested rebar be drilled into existing slab. If I'm only extending 2' do you still recommend the rebar?

I wouldn't pour straight up to the existing slab, I would use and expansion joint there, but as for rebar I wouldn't bother, the only time I use that is if I'm attaching the slab to the house or a footing.

Appreciate the quick response. I wasn't planning on putting in any expansion joint, but now I will. 1st timer on this.
    Many Thanks
