    Recovering lost data
    Hello all:

    I have a big problem:

I have a Dell XPS M300 (or M3000 - something like that. I'm at work now and don't have my laptop or specs with me.)

I had my files on the desktop. I didn't have any up to date backups. I accidentally deleted the files - from the recycling bin & all. I tried system restore, however, the system restored the folders, with a minimum amount of files. There's still a large number of files that haven't been recovered. I've trying to recover the files for 3 weeks now. Is there a way I could recover them? Thank you & have a good day.

It might be too late now, but could simple setting your computer back three weeks do the trick, if it gives you the option to. I don't have much of a computer mind, but it works for viruses downloaded, so it should work the other way as well.

    Hello:

Thanks for the response. It worked in that I was able to recover a small percentage of the files & folders - & I'm guessing they were able to be recovered because they were small. My photoshop & CAD files haven't been recovered. However, I bought some media recovery software and waiting for it in the mail. It says it can recover lots of media types and help fix or restore partitions. That's what they all say though huh:) Hopefully, that'll work. I'll keep you informed. Thank you & have a good day.

Your welcome, hopefully the software you ordered will recover the rest.
