I have fibromyalgia, was diagnosed about 15 years ago. After being told all the fatigue and aches, etc. was in my head, I finally found a doctor who took the time to do a decent exam and then send me to a rheumatologist. Not every day is a bad day and not every day is pain free either. Nutrition, exercise, following the doctor's recommendations, medicine, are all part of life. There are also support groups out there, some run through a hospital or clinic. Check those out in your area. Online there are support groups also, for example in Yahoo Groups. Education is your key and getting some fellowship from others who understand that this is very real.

    Best to you.

Fibromyalgia is an inflammation caused by a variety of things mostly toxins from food preservatives, lack of certain foods, poor digestion, cleaning supplies and air fresheners, stress, viral, parasitic, yeast or bacterial infections, to name a few.
Try a good herbal detox for fibromyalgia
    Avoid these food
    Chocolate
    Caffeine
    Carbonated beverages
    Coffee
    Alcohol
Hydrogenated oils, margarine -use olive oil, flax oil, omega fatty acids, butter,
Nutrasweet and artificial sweeteners, White sugar-use stevia
White flour- use whole wheat, whole grain
    Fried foods
    Preservatives, junk food
    Salt-use sea salt
Red meat -especially salt cured, cured bacon, smoked, or nitrate cured
    Liquid with your meals
    All forms of tobacco

If have a juicer, fresh carrot juice claimed to heal cancer along with an array of diseases by eating raw foods and drinking carrot juice.
Also get plenty of vegetables, and fruits, omega 3 fish oil contains anti-inflammatory properties.

    Also try taking these

Chamomile: This is a calming fibromyalgia herb that can help induce sleep, lessen anxiety, decrease menstrual cramps and may even boost the immune system.

Echinacea: Supports the immune system and may help prevent infections. Do not take it more than two weeks at a time.

Goldenseal: Can reduce inflammation. Also used to detoxify. Not recommended for long-term use. One week to one month is all the longer I would use this.

Cayenne: Can help relieve migraine or tension headaches. It is used for muscle pain when made into a salve or ointment.

Ginger: Can be used to calm an upset stomach. May have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

Look for a good book on alternative ways to help your fibromyalgia to learn more about diet and so forth find helpful things to relieve it. You can still do what your doctor says as long as he knows what herbal stuff you are taking so they don't counteract the meds.
