1996 Eighty Eight Olds Paint Failure
A friend asked me to research his make and model for any known paint problems. He tells me his paint job is going to hell and would like to approach the auto maker with some facts to help him in what will most likely be a futile attempt at getting them to "fix" the problem without him coughing up the cash. Anyone have any experience with this or know of a web site I could go to where I could research this? I've found a limited amount of related chatter but nothing all that useful. Thanks!

1996, the paint, if its original, should be regular paint they've been using, I do know a couple years though used that latex paint that would start chipping off, nothing to do but repaint it. Its past the warranty, the automaker doesn't have anything to do with the car now.

I have a 1996 Honda civic that runs great, but uses about a quart every 500 miles. Does anybody know if this will affect emissions when it is time to do them again? Has anybody had a problem like this? Thank you.
