I have been convicted of welfare fraud. Yes it is true, i did commit this crime. I never thought it was this serious. I always thought if they paid you too much money you had to pay them back. I never knew you could go to jail for this. They are a lot of people that commit this same crime. Only difference is, i really did have a job and my children really did go to a daycare center. Others have made up paystubs indicating that they were working and had to pay for daycare. I never added my boyfriend, at the time to my case. And because of that they call it fraud. And which it is, don't get me wrong. I know i did something wrong. What i don't understand is, why send me to jail? I pay it all back. It may take me a long time, but so what i'll di it. I have 5 children and a 53 year old mother that i am responsible for. Sending me to jail would be useless. I am attening college now. I would like to become a cpa like my mother, but with all this stuff going on i don't know. I have only one other charge. I was in a fight about 8 or 9 year ago. I was put on pobation for 1 year and that was it.

I have zero sympathy you stole from a system that all of us feed into. You stole my tax dollars and everyone else's. Welfare fraud is a real crime and as such you should be put in jail. People like you make it harder for those who really need help to get it.
