Suppose it were known that in nearby areas, Middle ordovician, pennsylvanian, and cretaceous rocks were oil-bearing. Discuss the potential for oil exploration in the area. In what specific area or areas in this region might you recommend further investigation?

you need to clarify the question. There are so many variables, structure, facies architectre, historical context, etc. In order to examine the potiential for hydrocarbon exploration, you need to consider the developmental history of the basin. Please give a little more elaboration.

Do look into what the Announcement link J9 gave says.
Try to do some research and show us what you come up with, we will help you correct the mistakes if there seem to be any
