Ah Ha! That is what I needed to know. Thank you Jan, these are great gift ideas. My grandmother loves butterflies, so I think I will be making on for her and since Grandpa likes candy I can put some candy in the dish and send it to both of them. Maybe I can use a dish instead of a plate...

    I paint cakes
I bake them, ice in fondant icing then trace on whatever [from a Kiltie dancing with his kilt cought in his belt showing a bare bum] to princesses etc and the world's your oyster. I search the internet for pictures of motorbikes cars superheros and have done sunsets too. All painted with food colouring. I have the Rainbows anniversary to do this month with the badge /logo. If any one wants advice it is easy if you are artistic. Designer cakes! Tried to add a photo but didn't work

I would be more comfortable if you could figure out how to post them on this site instead. I think someone will beable to come along and help you with that process, I don't know how todo it either very well, I could get you really confused if I tried to explain it;)
I can't wait to see what they look like!

Hi there! As requested I will gladly share instructions on how to post images. I am an "A to Z" person so forgive if these instructions sound too elementary. I have to have a step by step for myself.

Once you have scanned your photos, save them as a .jpg file on your computer. You should have a file perhaps “MY PICTURES" where you can save images. You will see “My Documents”, “My Music”, “My Pictures”, etc. Best to save in "My Pictures" as a .jpg file.

To Resize: Bring up "MY PICTURES" folder where your image is saved. Left click on image once (this chooses it, does not open it) then right click on it. Run your cursor over "OPEN WITH", it should show you several choices...if you see Microsoft Photo Editor, left click to open. Your image will show up in that program on your screen. At the top of that screen, you will see File, Edit, View, Image, etc. Left click on IMAGE, it should have a drop down box giving options, left click on "RESIZE" There will be a box that appears that shows the size of your image. On the right side it will show UNITS.....on the drop down box you can choose inches or pixels, choose pixels. On this site, when you choose "GO ADVANCED", that is where you can add the image and to do so, the image cannot be larger than 750 pixels. (You can use most any photo program to resize).

Once you have done this, PLEASE go to “File” and choose "SAVE AS"...you can name that image the same as original but add the word at the end as “resized”. That way you retain the larger image but also have one you can post. If you want the image to be fairly large, you can go with the 750 pixels, I have used 600 but generally choose 400. That is just personal preference. Make sure the largest dimension whether height or width does not exceed 750 pixels.

If I have not left out a step in the instructions, this should allow you to resize your image to allow you to post using "Go Advanced" on the "Answer this Question" box in which I am typing.

Ok, I am operating on the assumption that you have now resized your photo, saved it in a file folder and are ready to post.

On "Answer this Question: click on "Go Advanced". Type whatever description, discussion or details you want the viewer to see in the first box then scroll down (do not submit yet), you will see “Additional Options” the first part will have boxes with check marks in them. Make sure the first three are checked. Scroll down, the next box will say "Manage Attachments". Left click on that. A box will come up that says "Manage Attachments" First box will say upload file from your computer with a "Browse Button". Left click on Browse button. Box will come up: Choose File
Look in: (on this one, you scroll to find the folder that holds your image, open it, then left click to select image you have resized. Click Open. It will place the information of location of said image, Left Click on upload. Wait just a few moments. When it is finished, X out that screen, you will be on "Additional Options" area and it will show just above where it says "Manage Attachments" which file you just attached. Then Scroll down, left click "Submit Answer". This should then show text you typed in first box and below that, image you selected and uploaded. I sure hope I haven't left out a step. If I have, we can get back on track another way. I will help in anyway I can.

It took me awhile and the patience of other posters helping me to learn how to post images. Best to you! If this seems a little confusing, I suggest you copy and past to a Word Document and then print it out. Refer to it (provided I got it typed crorectly) as you go. :)

Starty, I am clueless about Vista but could you just type and let me know what photo programs you have? From Windows Photo Gallery, did you save to MY PICTURES?? What happens when you right click on the image?

Starty, you might want to read what is on the following link before doing much with your photos using VISTA as your Operating System.

Sweet Dreams tonight and Happy Mother's Day to you also!

As my sister and I teasingly say "Kug, Kug, Hiss Hiss!" LOL :p We had been going through stuff at our parents house and were so extremely tired. I was leaving and was going to say, "Hug Hug Kiss Kiss!" But the words just didn't flow. It has now become our salutation!!

(Just a note: I was getting ready to order a new comptuer but my son said it would come with Vista and there were several having problems. Not wanting to discourage you. He just said if I ordered a new computer, he would wipe the drive clean (if that is correct terminology as I am not a computer savvy person) and put what I have now back on it.

Craig, have you tried this conversion method? I tried it. Got the image downloaded but it was not resized. What am I missing?

I have not tried it. But, will give it a try. Interesting, since it's been recommended for this site... I'll try using it and then posting something real soon in the next post on this thread.

I haven't tagged any of my pictures and in Windows Vista photo gallery I brought up picture I wanted in Microsoft Pictures manager
in the toolbar left click EDIT PICTURES
choose TASK PANE click on resize

There is a long box above the pixels box clock on it and a drop down list will have WEB SMALL [390x448?]
click on it you will see your picture change size and remember to SAVE it before exiting.
I will do another now just to get used to it. It will be on another answer though.

This is cool! Thanks for posting the image, louisglenda! It would be good if you would share some of how the process works where you prepare and go about the decorating of the cakes. I need to be getting to bed real quick here though, so will catch you later! Thanks!

Sorry to be bombarding you with pictures but want to try this again This time it wouldn't go to the WEB SMALL size [wrong shape I think] so I reduced it using the % box and saved it
This one was just done on a piece of icing then put on the cake. I don't sell these just make them for friends and family.
