    300 was good but not the best. I also watched The Last King of Scottland... that was good but hard to watch in some sorts...
    Pollyanna? Loved it, even now I still like it.

    OK - Clicked on this discussion and found two of my all time favorites in your first post. I love Shawshank and The Prestige. My remaining three are:
    Cinderella Man ( gut wrenching, dark and heroic)
    Schindler's List (fantastic story, well-depicted)
    The Black Stallion (cinamatography, subject matter, and a classic)

    Also favorites: The Secret Garden, The Legend of Bagger Vance

    Ok,I have looked and looked,here is a few I like;

    Soylent Green---Memories of life in the ending of food for mankind(as a kid this was powerful)

    The Sound of Music---Old musicals arre just not paralleled in today's market(maybe Grease)

    West side Story---Same as above

    The Rocky Horror Picture Show(only because I would go on Friday nights to the Skywalk in Cincy to watch it at midnight for YEARS!! )

    Wag The Dog---hmm a little political but can't sit on the fence forever.

    Hot Dog The Movie---A special place in my heart.

    The Princess Bride---What a great story!

    The Shawshank Redemption---

    Shindlers List---

    And,Oh Yeah,The Matrix series---The future is only as far as tomorrow.
