After root canal, waiting for permament crown
Had a root canal (tooth 14) about a month ago. Then the temp went in for the crown. Had it in for the month. As the dentist was putting the crown in, a piece of porcelain broke off... so on went another temp. 5 days later a BUMP appeared on my gum above tooth 14. Question could the infection have been in there for a month from the root canal or did the infection come when the dentist put another temp. in.

    Thanks sflog

The infection could still be present from before the root canal. Has an x-ray been taken after the root canal was complete to be sure that the filling material has reached the very tip of the root? Perhaps only one canal was done when there are two? Don't have the crown cemented until the infection is gone.
