    Do I need to apply for a Federal Tax ID for a new business? Or, can I file the business with my husbands & I tax return?

    You need to apply for a Federal Tax ID so you can file under the name of the business.
    If you are selling any type of products, services, etc.

    You can operate many small business under your SSN and file a Schedule C.
