It sounds like you may have a hair follicle infection, which could definitley cause a cyst to enventionally form just beneath the skin. Cysts can be relatively harmless and usually disappear after awhile. If you have a strange odor, it's probably the kretin (sp?) in the cyst. If it's tender and sore, there's a chance it could be infected.

Obviously, to be on the safe side give your doctor a visit.

But I don't think it's anything life threatening.

First and foremost for anyone with a concern in this area, SEE YOUR GYN. It's much better to have him/her shrug off an issue as no big deal than to wait until you can't stand it any longer and it turns out to be something that "could have been treatable if we'd caught it earlier."

bahahaha, what you describe sounds like a cyst in the Bartholin's gland (the glands that produce the lubricant).

Treatment in my case was quick and only mildly uncomfortable, the Dr. gave me a local anesthetic and opened/cleaned the cyst with a follow up visit to verify all was well. The cysts can sometimes reoccur weeks, months or years later and, like your tonsils, if the problem persists they can remove the problem gland altogether.

However, much better to have a physician examine and verify the problem.

And you came to this conclusion, Doctor, having years of extensive training and having thoroughly examined the original questioner's visible, physical symptoms as well as her explanation of non-visible symptoms?

Honestly, did you read any of this thread? It very well could be a "hair bump," in which case it's no big deal. But there is a chance it could be something much more serious so when in doubt it's always better to speak with someone experienced in the field of your concern.

With your own body you are certainly well within your rights to "ignore it and not worry" but to give someone else that offhanded advice is extremely apathetic and irresponsible.

Small painless bumps on the vulva may be related to a yeast infection especially if you have been cleared by a doctor, but it is always best to be seen by your ob/gyn with issues "down there"

I have a small bump in between like my perineum and vagina, I felt it in the shower and freaked out but then remembered that this guy fingered me really hard a few weeks before and there was a tiny tiny bit of blood and I thought maybe he broke my hymen or what was left of it. I went to the doctor who said that she thought it was that too, and I didn't even mention that to her, so I was a little relieved. I went to another one, a specialist, who didn't even mention it, he said he saw a crack... but nothing serious. I've had some yeast infections this year and he said sometimes it takes a while to get back to normal.

So, don't jump to conclusions about STDs... if you've seen a doctor and they say it's okay then it's most likely okay. Plus, warts tend to appear in clusters and are cauliflower shaped... it's unsual to just have one. Though it is possible... and if you were only with one guy, you are at a very low risk for STDs in general. Though HPV isn't regularly tested for... he would know if he had warts and genital warts is rare, though regular HPV is more common, so be sure to get annual paps.

But it sounds like you are okay. The vagina is a complicated area... sigh, I'd love to have a penis!

Could be vaginal caluses. Ask your gyno and see. If they are just change the positions you use and use ky mire often, although they may no go away.

I have the same issue. I wish I could remember what the ob said it was!! I'll repost when I remember, but I get random bumps that last a week or so then go away. I can be bump free for a while but the randomly get them again, but its NOT an std. Something like myodexia or something. Pretty much I have easily aggravated skin. I also had a larger "bump" on my upper inner thigh that was nothing more than a skin tag that I had removed at a regular check up. So don't freak out until you have a reason to freak out! And even then its probably not as big of a deal as you assume at the time.

Its so annoying how many people immediately say it is hpv when most of these people have no clue what hpv looks like. I have had hpv, what you are describing is NOT hpv. It sounds more like a ganglion cyst, in grown hair or a skin irritation. Only a doc will know for sure but try spreading the skin tight to see if the round bump slides or moves a little under the skin, that's a cyst. Hpv is on top the skin and won't move under it, also is more like a bubble.

So I went to the gyno for an annual visit and asked about the bump. She said that I had prollie gotten a small cut down there and fluids got in it. She also told me its very common and not be worried that it would go away on its on. So its not genital warts or cancer or any of those other things people have said. Its just a small harmless bump.

I will try to help you, what do your bumps feel like? Are they under the skin or OK top of the skin? Warts can go away if the doctor gives you cream or you can put apple cider vinegar on them to make them turn to scabs and then pick or peel off. Do you have,warts?
