Because a lot of people do not want what they have earned to be forefully taken away from them.
Also there is a perception that if everyone shared everything, there would be no reason to work.
If everything could be provided no matter what a person achieved, then why would one attempt to achieve hard tasks? Who would do the hard, meaningless work (factorys, cleaning up after people, etc.. )
Marx himself thought that creativity through work was what it meant to be human. If one does not work, he is doing an injustice to himself. If there is no motivation to work, then it seems a lot of persons are doomed to not be human in Marx's eye.
Similarly, there is a perception that for everyone to be awarded the same for varring levels of work is a terrible injustice.
