    Defrag
I'm trying to defrag my c drive and the process goes to 48% and says "system changed" and starts over at 0%. I remember reading that I should uninstal "something" to get the computer to finish, but I can't recall what it was. Any help would be appreciated.

    defrag
For defrag to run all running programs except Explorer need to be shut down. You can do this by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and using End Task. Also make sure that anti-virus and screensaver is also disabled.

It might be safer to do a defrag from Safe Mode. Press f8 as you boot the machine until you see the menu that offers Safe Mode.

    Hope this helps,

    defrag
I closed all of the programs and took off the screen saver, but didn't disable the anti virus. I'll give this a try. Thanks.
