When it's raining, should I walk or run?
Presuming no wind, and rain coming straight down, will I get wetter walking or running?
I'd think that it would be running, as I'd be forcing more rain to hit the front of me which is more area than my head and shoulders.
There are plenty of hits googling it - but I read some logical sounding answers on both sides.
What forumulas would/could be used to support either opinion?

There was a graph in an episode of a magazine in bristol, it shows how wet you get for every point on the "strength of rain"-"speed of movement" scale. I'll see if I can find it.
I'm pretty sure the answer was "running, because you spend less time in the rain" in most cases.

Here it is:
So you can see that if the rain is moderate-heavy, you're better off jogging than running. Otherwise you're better off running.

I love both the scientific answer AND the Mythbusters test. Haha I bet they did not quite have as much fun doing that one as they did blowing up the cement truck or shooting the oxygen tank through the block wall :p

I love mythbusters, but they have to reject scientific methodology for good TV ;)

Your all wrong, and so is Mythbusters. If you carry your umberella and wear your galoshes when it rains you wont get wet. DUH!! Then you can walk or run, and stay dry.
