Well, you always have the option of Andrew II.

Or, something creative. Let's see... If he were my baby and given the scenario that my name was Andrew and the mother's name was Shay, I might think something like Shayne could be appropriate because it would take some characteristics from the name of both the mother and father and also look like a masculine name, like "Shane."

    Here's another possibility, "Shander."

Here's even another possibility, "Andyshay." Just an idea since you were looking for them.

Well Andrew means: Manly, valiant, courageous and is of greek origin
And Shay means: majestic and is of Irish origin

I would go with a combo of meaning/origin

Caelin is of Irish Origin and means brave, strong.
Riley is of Irish origin and means brave, valiant
Casey is of Irish roots and means brave
Liam is of Irish roots and means defender, protector, manly

Sebastian is of Greek origin and means Majestic
Stephen is of Greek origin and means Crown (majestic)
Adrian is of greek origin and means rich, wealthy, majestic.
Basil is of greek origin and means Royal, brave

I love that name... it is on my list. Aiden is how we spell it though... IM pretty particular about the common spelling of traditional Irish names.

I wasn't saying it was wrong to spell it that way, I was just saying that we tend to gravitate to tradional spellings, that's all. Nothing against your suggestion...

What about the grandfather's name (on the father's side)? - that's a traditional scottish way of naming a boy - it's common in my family. Don't know about irish I'd have to ask my flatmate - but they tend to have similar traditions though.

    Just a random thought :)
