    Venting
Hi I'm redoing my bathroom down stairs. I was wondering if I can put a Oatey in line vent for my bathroom sink. Are they safe to use? There is a vent for the toilet that runs up through the roof but would be really heard to run a main vent to the sink. How safe are they to use in the basment.

    Thank you

Some Codes don't allow AAV venting. You may check with your Inspector. However, as far as functionality of AAV vent for your application goes - yes, it is safe to use and your sink will drain w/o problems.

A further note on AAVs. They must be installed where they are assessable and can be easily replaced if necessary. A good place is just ahead of the trap,(see image) Good luck and thank you for rating my answer. Tom
